On December 15, we hosted Julia Kane and Bonnie Flatow from the Sunrise Association at the GNS Library. They talked about pediatric cancer from a family's point of view: what Sunrise Day Camp does, what camp means for a kid in treatment, and how students can help.
What we heard
Sunrise runs a free summer camp for children with cancer and their siblings, with medical support on site. For many families it's the part of the year that feels most like a normal childhood. The camp is paid for by donations, including money raised at the June 14 walk.
